About the Project
This mark is inspired by Hip Hop and Black cultural iconography a kin to RUN DMC. The rounded background graphic shape brings in the racing and running community imagery of running shoe heel counters and running blade flags. The custom typography uses negative spaces and shifting baselines to evoke motion and an active lifestyle.
The color schemes present in these style slides are not to be combined on one visual, rather, allow the brand to show up in a variety of visual languages depending on their community activation.
The tagline “lace up, we outside” is a reflection of Black culture as well as an invitation to the community to join in and be active.
This brand was created in partnership with the Hatch & Flock Early Bird Project. The partner agrees to adhere to its use and keep intact the integrity of the
complete identity mark, type, and color palette provided—as is.
